Hi, it’s Ginny here. I’m from Vietnam, currently living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. When I graduated from university, it’s my dream to pursuit my career in media and advertising. I started my career as a Customer Service Executive at Kantar Media Vietnam, where I was trained to expertise in reading media research data, provide insight reports to brand agencies and train them on how to use the system.
Then I move forward to join WPP group as a media planner to work with global brands such as Nivea, Lenovo to manage their multi million media campaigns. I completed GroupM Academy – an intensive 6 month training on media planner as a runner-up.
After 2 years at WPP, I had an opportunity to join Grab Vietnam in their early days in Vietnam market. I’ve learnt so much in one year at Grab as a marketing executive, from planning, to executing regional scale campaigns, learnt how to hustle (literally), learnt the ways of start ups.
In 2016, I took a huge step in my career to move to Kuala Lumpur for a job offer, being adventurous and up for new challenges, I packed my life in 30kg luggage and booked a flight to Malaysia. Little that I know 2 months later in the new country, I founded – Shoe Mo – one stop shoe service solutions that helps customer maintain and prolong their shoes lifespan. Shoe Mo now has 13 outlets in 5 countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam) and the leading shoe care service in Malaysia market. Shoe Mo was featured on The Star newspaper & Vulcan Post. You might find a lot of article on my blog regarding my Shoe Mo journey. Ever since, I found my interest in challenges and solving the problems gives the great sense of achievement. While managing Shoe Mo, I’m still persuing my passion in Marketing & Technology, I’ve worked for Technology start ups in Malaysia to help them plan and manage their marketing campaigns. While many asked, why don’t I just focus in Shoe Mo. My answer is simple, I’m still very young and there are so many things out there for me to learn, and while I still can work hard, I will.
